Florence Merlot Cabernet - Dryridge Estate

This is a very smooth blend. Yes, Merlot and Cabernet are a regular match for wine making, but not usually from the Megalong Valley. Our beautiful cool climate Cabernet, blended with the smoothness of the Merlot grapes create a beautiful full red. Not heavily oaked with some vanillin, crushed biscotti flavours.

 It is a gorgeous dark purple colour. On the nose there will be herbal notes as well as spice and licorice. Some lovely tastes of fruits like plums and dark cherries.

 Food match – this goes well with beef stew, barbecued red meats and char-grilled Portobello mushrooms or meaty sausages. Just think a Sunday slow-roasted shoulder of lamb or char-grilled steak. Also goes delightfully with goat’s milk cheeses.

Cellaring potential - this wine will keep and continue to develop over the next 4-7 years.
